Aria Wine Bar

Aria Wine Bar is a cozy little spot on Perry Street, in My West Village.  The wine bar is warmly lit, the decor is country farm rustic and the Italian tapas are incredibly delicious.  This is the perfect spot for a girls night out or first date.   For a memorable evening stop by Aria Wine Bar.

Thanksgiving Eve in My West Village

The streets are quiet.

The grocery stores are crowded.

The turkeys in my west village are getting ready to be stuffed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Julianne Moore's apartment in My West Village

On west 11st street between Greenwich and Washington Streets lives Julianne Moore.   Her Brownstone is the one with the red door.  Aren't the interiors just beautiful?  This is a listing I found on Sotherby's International.

Rentals in the West Village - we have it all

Today I just found out Nicole Kidman lives in the West Village and she is renting her apartment.   For only 45k a month - you can live like Nicole.  Well if that seems a bit steep, a couple doors down there is a home that might meet your needs.     If not, maybe you can build your own.   You might need a tree though.

Morning walk in the rain in My West Village

Welcome to My West Village

Welcome to My West Village.

A place where I can talk about my favorite neighborhood in New York.  When I first moved to New York I lived on Waverly Street.  Since that time, I have lived uptown, downtown and Brooklyn and returned  a little more than two years ago with my husband to the West Village.

I grew up in a small beach town in New Jersey.  My mom is a designer and my dad played in local bands for many years.  My grandparents made wine and had a restaurant in Ohio for 30 years.  My other grandmother is a skilled seamstress and made clothes for my sister and me as children.  As I walk around my neighborhood, with its boutiques, cafes and wine bars, I feel inspired and very much like I belong.

This site is devoted to the West Village, its rich history, fascinating people and special places that make it such a unique and inspirational neighborhood.
